Are Automobile Accidents Increasing? (1929)
If anyone wants to find out whether automobile accidents are increasing in number and violence he can have his curiosity satisfied by asking Joe Bishop how traffic crashes are booming his business.
Never before in twenty years he has been in the tailoring and cleaning business in Neillsville, he states, has he cleaned so many bloody suits of men’s clothes and women’s dresses as he has this summer.
During the past two months he has received from two to four suits a week from motorists who have been injured in automobile collisions.
Joe blames too much speed, moonshine and a general disregard for caution at intersections and curves.
