Wehrman, Fred  (11APR 1873 - 26 NOV 1948)

 

Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon, Nov. 29, at Grace Methodist church in Greenwood for Fred Wehrman, 74, who died at 5 o’clock Friday morning, Nov. 26, at his farm home eight miles northeast of Greenwood. He had been ill for eight years.

 

The Rev. Lee H. Holmes of Loyal officiated at the service. Pallbearers were Charles Emling, William Deuermeyer and Ernest Schoettler of Loyal and Theodore Abel, Max Voss and David Danielson of Greenwood.

 

Mrs. Charles Perkins and Mrs. I. W. Stafford sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Saved By Grace," accompanied on the piano by Mrs. William Olson.

 

Mr. Wehrman was born in Sheboygan county on Apr. 11, 1873, and came to Clark county with his parents when he was six years old. He was married on Nov. 6, 1907, to Alvina Brandt. Since 1908 they have lived on the present farm in the town of Beaver. He was a member of the school board for 18 years.

 

Surviving , besides his wife, are three sons, Clarence of Lanon, Arthur of Loyal and Ed of Merton: two step children, Oscar Brant of Greenwood and Mrs. Helen Wentland of Northfield, Minn.: 10 grandchildren; a brother, Otto Wehrman, and three sisters, Mrs. Caroline Volk, Mrs. Bertha Volk and Mrs. Mary Abel, all of Greenwood. Another sister, Mrs. Anna Buker preceded him in death.

 

Relatives from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wehrman and son of Lanon, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wehrman and son of Merton, Mrs. Helen Wentland and daughter, Margaret of  Northfield, Minn., Arthur Rossow of Flasher, N.D., Mrs. Gusta Boyd and Leland Haines of Lancaster, Mr. and Mrs. John Brandt and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Morrow and son of Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Brandt and daughter, Darleen, of Stratford, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Tatalovich and Ida, Arno and Henry Wehrman of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Arno Guk, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Anding, Mrs. Tillie Bass, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Bass, Carl Krause, Eddie Krause and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Krause of Granton, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gloff of Arpin.

 

The Tribune extends to the survivors its sympathy in their loss.
