Arndt, Emma Louise (10 November 1922 - 3 August 2010)

 

Emma (William) Arndt, 87, passed away Aug. 3, 2010, at Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

 

Emma Louise Aldinger was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Columbus to Ed and Pearl (Rush) Aldinger.  She moved with her parents to the Alma Center/Merrillan area when she was five.  She attended Avon and Houghtonburg grade schools and graduated from Alma Center High School.  She worked in Graf’s (Grocery) in Merrillan and also worked for Cutler-Hammer in Milwaukee.

 

She married William C. Arndt June 22, 1943, in Alma Center.  She went to live with her air force husband in California in 1944.  She then moved to Grand Forks, ND, for a year.  In 1947 she moved to the Neillsville area, and then to Tomahawk for a year, where she and her husband were employed by Kurt Marg Fur Foods.  She moved with her family in 1951 to their town of Hewett farm.  She and her husband farmed there until 1986.  They sold the farm and moved into Neillsville in January of 1992.

 

Emma is survived by her two sons, Duane (Mary) of Hayward and Garry (Judy) of Huber Heights, OH; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Aldinger of Merrillan and one sister, Marlene (Earl) Dayton of Neillsville; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two sisters.

 

She will be cremated and her remains will be committed to the Hewettville Cemetery (Columbia Cemetery in the Township of Hewett) at a later date.
