Oehmichen, Margaret (28 AUG 1928 - 27 JUL 2010)

 

COLBY -- Margaret Oehmichen, 81, of Colby, died July 27, 2010, at Aspirus Hospice House, under the compassionate care of the staff.

She was born Aug. 28, 1928, in the town of Day, daughter of Herman and Mary Weichelt. She married James Oehmichen on Oct. 9, 1948, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt.

Margaret and James were married 35 years and owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Colby. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Larry (Carol) Oehmichen of Colby, Darlene (Gene) Simmerman of Wausau and Julie (Michael) Spalding of Weston; grandsons, Craig (Christine) Oehmichen, Wade (Ariel) Oehmichen, Matthew Oehmichen and Ben Simmerman; great-grandchildren, Chase, Willow and Jeremiah Oehmichen; sisters, Deloris Kohlstedt of Lombard, Ill., Neva Zabielski of Riverside, Calif., Betty Hutchison of Marshfield, Mabel (Arnie) Boehning of Marshfield, Meta (Archie) Hoffmann of Nekoosa and Hildy (Vern) Revling of Marshfield; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until service time. The Rev. Mark Neumann will officiate. Burial will be at the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Zion Lutheran Church.
