GRANTON -- Susan M. Gorman, 59, of Granton, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, in the Palliative Care Unit of Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
Susan Marie Brody was born Dec. 25, 1950, in Wisconsin Rapids, the daughter of Harvey Sr. and Mae (Carpenter) Brody. She was married in 1969 to Michael Sternitsky in Pittsville. They later divorced. In the early 1970s, Susan moved to Granton and on June 29, 1979, she was united in marriage to Arnold Gorman.
She worked at Weinbrenner's Shoe Factory and seasonally at Figi's in Marshfield. She then began cooking, all the while working nights, at the Casa Loma in Marshfield and Fannies in Neillsville. She also worked as a cook at Country Pines and The Super 8 in Marshfield. For the past 13 years, she has worked in the bakery at Festival Foods in Marshfield.
She is survived by her children, Sandy (Orville Scheibe) Sternitzky of Marshfield, and Brian (Brenda) Sternitzky of Granton; three grandchildren; siblings, Gerald Brody of Wisconsin Rapids, Caroline Hicks of Green Bay, Charles (Carol) Brody of Wisconsin Rapids, Harvey (Charlotte Fuentes) of Neillsville and Janet (David) Obermeier of Wisconsin Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Interment will be in the Windfall Cemetery in Granton. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
