Goessl, Theodore J. (3 OCT 1926 - 14 AUG 2010)
Theodore J. Goessl, 83, of Marshfield died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Donald Meuret will officiate, and Sister Celine, a sister of Mr. Goessl, will be the soloist. Entombment will take place in McMillan Memorial Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum, town of McMillan, Marathon County. The visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Rembs Funeral Home and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at Our Lady of Peace Church. A parish prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ted was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Curtiss, the son of Irving and Theresa (Decker) Goessl, and he attended Dorchester Schools. As a young man, he worked on the family farm. He and Donna S. Jensen were united in marriage May 18, 1954, in Dorchester. Shortly after their marriage, he started his career in electric motors at a shop in Abbotsford from 1954 until 1962. He then moved to Marshfield and began working for Marshfield Electric Motor, later becoming a part owner until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Badger Aerie 624 of Marshfield.
He is survived by his wife, Donna of Marshfield, a son, Floyd Goessl of Arpin, and a daughter, Gloria (Rich) Cram of Spencer. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Priscilla Folz, and a great-grandson, Dylan. He is further survived by three sisters, Cedus (Johnny) Kapfhamer of Stetsonville, Marcella Deeter of Benson, Ariz., and Sister Celine Goessl of Merrill.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Clarence, Orlando, Peter and Herb, and sisters, Ethel and Patricia.
