Smith, Berdie (13 December 1896 - 17 October 1987)
Colby - Berdie Smith, 90, died Saturday morning at the Colonial House Living Center, Colby.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Colby Methodist Church. The Rev. Kenneth Barnes will officiate and burial will be in the Abbotsford Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Rux Funeral Home, Colby, after 4 p.m. today.
She was born Dec. 13, 1896, in Illinois. She received her education in Minnesota and also attended normal school in La Crosse.
She was married Sept. 16, 1920, in Chippewa Falls to Lloyd Smith. They farmed in the Town of Hull and also operated the Smith Golden Guernsey milk route between Colby and Abbotsford.
She was a member of the Colby Methodist Church, the Royal neighbors of America, and the Abbotsford Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Surviving are a son, Homer of Colby; a foster daughter, Mrs. Hazel Pacholke of Cable; a brother, William Erickson of Marshfield; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Scheer of Independence, Iowa; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband in May 1953, her parents, two brothers and a sister.
