Olsen, Norman "Ole" (22 April 1916 - 18 August 1988)
Abbotsford - Norman "Ole" Olsen, 72, Abbotsford, died at 10 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Hospital Emergency Room.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church, Abbotsford. The Rev. Robert Everhard will officiate. Burial will be in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery.
Visitation w ill be at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford after 4 p.m. today. The VFW Post of Colby will conduct a service at 7:30 tonight.
He was born April 22, 1916, in Abbotsford, to Mr. and Mrs. John Olsen.
His first marriage was to Evelyn Faye DeVault Feb. 29, 1936. She died April 5, 1968. His second marriage was to Helen Frahmann-Lapp Oct. 26, 1968.
He served in the Army in World War II in Okinawa. He was employed at the Abbotsford Auto Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of the Abbotsford Fire Department from 1934 - 1970. He was Fire Chief from 1948 - 1970. He was a member of the VFW Post of Colby, and the First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; one son, Robert Olsen of Grundy Center, Iowa; three daughters, Mrs. M. R. (Delores) Shell of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Joyce Kemp of Siren, and Mrs. Clifford (Audree) Downey of Colby; two step-sons, Donavon Lapp of Holcombe, and Rick Lapp of Rock Falls, Ill.; three step-daughters, Mrs. Fred (Phyllis) Shields of Lombard, Ill., Mrs. Robert (Patsy) Schnieder of Hypoluxo, Fla., and Mrs. William (Nancy) Stanley of Rock Falls, Ill.; five sisters: Mrs. Louis (Helen) Wiese of Reesburg, Mrs. Adline Hopper of Salisbury, Md., Mrs. Lorraine Cronin of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Addison (Regina) Figgs of Seaford, Del., and Mrs. Ernest (Audree) Wells of Wilmington, Del.; 12 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, two sisters, one son, and four grandchildren.
