Haas, Gerry (27 APR 1950)

Miss Gerry Haas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raphael Haas, and Donald Rowley, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Rowley, were united in marriage at 8 o’clock Sunday morning, April 27, 1950, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church here.  The Rev. Fr. Aloys Zinthefer officiated.

For the occasion the bride was attired in a suit of natural tan, with a corsage of pink and white carnations.  Miss Colleen Bertz, a classmate of the bride through her 12 years of school, was her attendant.  She wore a dress of tan crepe, with a corsage similar to the bride’s.

Edward Bertz Jr., a high school classmate and friend of the groom, served as best man.

Following the ceremony, a wedding breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s parents, for immediate relatives.

A dance was given at Walter’s Pavilion, near Colby, the same evening.

Both the bride and groom are graduates of the Loyal High School, the bride in 1949 and the groom in 1943.  The groom served in the Navy during World War II for 2 ½ years.  Since that time he has been employed at the Lakeshire Cheese Storage plant and for about the past six months at Hug’s Surge Service here.

The newlyweds are living in an apartment in the Haas residence.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
