Oestreich, Mildred M. #2 (16 SEP 1950)
When Miss Mildred Mae Oestreich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Oestreich, became the bride of Herman T. Stange, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stange Sr., in the Trinity Lutheran Church here on Saturday afternoon, Sep.t 16, 1950, special music was provided by the Marshfield Woman’s Choral Club, of which she is immediate past president. The group sang a cappela, "The Lord’s Prayer and "May the Lord Bless You and Keep You." The Rev. J. C. Langholz officiated at the 2 o’clock single ring ceremony, for which organ music was provided by Maldon Plank of Marshfield.
When the bride approached the altar on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage, she was attired in a white satin Chantilly lace gown of satin. The long sleeved molded bodice, with satin buttons adorning the front, was topped by a thin mandarin collar. The full sweeping skirt terminated in a long train.
Her pixie-type helmet, embroidered with seed pearls and bugle beads, secured the hand rolled silk tulle veil. Two white chrysanthemums surrounded by deep red roses and pompoms composed her bouquet.
Miss Joan Oestreich of Mankato, Minn., was her cousin’s maid of honor, and Miss Donna Oertel of Auburndale was bridesmaid. A closely fitted bodice of bridal lace over burnt-gold satin with a cut away bolero, featured the full-skirted strapless gown selected by the maid of honor. The bolero, topped by a Peter Pan collar, had cap sleeves. A soft green strapless satin gown worn with a short fitted bolero finished at the neckline with a mandarin collar was worn by Miss Oertel. Both carried cascade arrangements of red roses, yellow mums and white pompoms.
Brothers of the bridal couple, Frank Stange Jr., as best man, and Raymond Oestreich, were attendants of the groom. Ushers were Eugene Lucht and Robert Thrum, cousins of the bride and groom.
Mrs. Oestreich viewed her daughter’s wedding in a green wool crepe dress, worn with black accessories, while the groom’s mother chose a navy blue silk crepe dress and gray accessories. Both had corsages of red roses and mums pinned at their shoulders.
Covers were laid for 70 guests at the 5 o’clock supper which was served at the home of the bride’s parents. The newlyweds greeted more than 100 relatives and friends there at a reception which followed.
They expect to return this weekend from a honeymoon in the west. Upon their return they will reside in Neillsville, where the groom is employed by the Clark County Highway Department. Before her marriage, Mrs. Stange was employed for several years as secretary to the principal of the Marshfield Senior High School.
Both are graduates of Loyal High School, the groom with the class of 1938 and the bride with the class of 1943.
To the newlyweds, The Loyal Tribune extends its heartiest congratulations and best wishes for the future.
