Mr. and Mrs. F. A. McCullough of Marshfield announce the marriage of their daughter, Mervyne, to John B. Gerdes of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.). The ceremony took place in Dubuque, Iowa, on Sept. 21, 1950.
A reception as held at the Neil Hotel in Waupaca on Saturday evening, Sept. 23, when a dinner was served in the hotel dining room. The dining room was beautifully decorated in yellow and white. A three-tier wedding cake, baked by the bride’s brother, served as a centerpiece on the bridal table. Large yellow candles were placed on the three large tables.
Immediate relatives of the bride and groom attended. Other guests were from Chicago and DeKalb, Ill., Wausau, Portage, Marshfield, Waupaca and Neillsville.
They are now at home to friends at 901 East Blodgett St. in Marshfield.
The groom, who saw service with the Army during World War II, is a graduate of the Loyal High School….. (the rest of my copy was cut off)
