Buddinger, Peter #2 (18 MAY 1866 - 20 OCT 1950)

Peter Buddinger, 84, passed away at his home in Granton (Clark Co., Wis.) at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 1950.

He was born in Carmel, Pa., on May 18, 1866.  He was one of a large family of children.

When a young man he worked in the lumbering business at Wausaukee.  In 1895 he and his wife and two daughters and his brother, Charles, and wife moved to farms in the town of York.  He remained on his farm until 10 years ago, when he retired.  For the past seven years he has resided in Granton.  He enjoyed an outdoor life for many years, being fond of hunting and fishing.  He was always a kind neighbor and good friend.

He was united in marriage on April 13, 1889, at Wausaukee to Bertha Luebke of Manitowoc.  Two daughters were born to this union, Mrs. Marie Kubat of Neillsville, and Bertha, who died in infancy.  Mrs. Buddinger died on Aug. 20, 1892.

In 1894 Mr. Buddinger was married to Minnie Luebke.  To this second marriage were born nine children, Mrs. James White of Loyal, Mrs. Victor Krejci and Mrs. Hugo Trimberger of Granton, William of the town of Levis, George of the town of York, Louis of Colby, and three children who died in infancy.

Two brothers, Charles and David (a minister), and two sisters, Mary and Elizabeth, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, four daughters, three sons, 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton and at 2 p.m. at the York Center Methodist Church.  He was buried in the parish cemetery at York Center.  The Rev. Lee H. Holmes officiated at the services.  Hymns were sung by Miss Shirley Rowe, with Mrs. Milford Rowe as accompanist.

Pallbearers were George Kronberger, George Hales, Emil Schoenfeld, Ervin Gower, Nute Turner and Herb Free.  Four granddaughters served as flower girls: Elaine Trimberger and Alice, Bonnie Rae and Marlene Buddinger.
