Beaver, Donald "Pud" #2 (19 MAY 1928 - 18 AUG 2010)
Donald W. "Pud" Beaver, 92, Westfield, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010, at Divine Savior Hospital, Portage. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 21, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. Interment was in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery.
Donald W. Beaver was born on May 19, 1928, in Loyal, to William and Clara (nee Attelyn-Schwieso) Beaver. He married Beverly Jean Gregory in June 1949. They began their first six years of married as farmers in rural Loyal until their barn burned down. For the remainder of his working life he was well known as a woodsman and logger. He enjoyed building and playing steel guitars, especially in his family band "The Kountry Kings." His other loves were hunting, fishing, working with horses, his dogs, and most of all, spending time with his family.
Survivors include his nine children, Thomas (Conde) Beaver, Portage, Dennis (Peggy) Beaver, Arizona, Dean (Amy) Beaver, Westfield, Lawrie (Jean) Beaver, Marshfield, Gary (Heidi) Beaver, Westfield, Douglas (Teresa) Beaver, Coloma, Therese Beaver, Westfield, Annette (Bruce) Daczyk, Junction City, and Bonnie (William) Finn, Dale; 77 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette (Don) Cole, Marshfield; and a sister-in-law, Orel Schwieso, Colby; other relatives and many friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his former wife, Beverly Jean; one son, Ronald Beaver; two grandsons, Brandon Beaver and Aaron Weyer; one granddaughter, Jessica Henkel; three sisters, Veronica, Evelyn and Lucille; and one brother Ted Schwieso.
