Lee, Rita V. (23 NOV 1950)
At a 10 o’clock nuptial mass at St. Francis Xavier Church in De Pere on Thanksgiving Day, Miss Rita Veronica Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James L. Lee of De Pere, became the bride of Raphael F. Roth, son of Mr. and Mrs. George N. Roth of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.). Msgr. Delbert C. Basche officiated.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Lee were the couple’s only attendants. Mr. Lee is the bride’s brother. Kenneth P. Foster and Henry Widman of Milwaukee served as ushers.
For the occasion, the bride chose a gown of ivory taffeta, fashioned with a bolero, close fitted bodice and full gathered skirt. Matching embroidery accented the edge of the bolero and the hemline of the ankle length gown. Her shoulder length veil of silk illusion was secured in a cloche of matching embroidered taffeta. She carried a white orchid on her mother of pearl prayer book.
Mrs. Lee wore an ankle length gown of light blue velvet, with a matching headdress. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations. The bride’s mother wore a fushia dress, with black accessories, while the groom’s mother wore a dark green, with brown accessories. Both wore corsages of white carnations.
Breakfast was served at the home of the bride’s parents, and a 1 o’clock dinner was served to approximately 40 guests at the Ridge Point Supper Club. A reception was held at the home of the bride’s sister, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mueller in De Pere.
Mr. and Mrs. George Roth Jr. of Unity and Mr. and Mrs. George N. Roth and daughter, Loretta, attended the wedding.
The bridegroom, who attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School here and graduated from Loyal High School with the class of 1940, graduated from Marquette University’s School of Business Administration. He spent 3 ½ years in the U.S. Navy, a year and a half overseas in the Pacific. His bride graduated from high school in De Pere and attended the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn.
After a wedding trip south, the Roths will be at home at 3707-A East Van Norman Av., Cudahy.
To the newlyweds, The Loyal Tribune extends congratulations and best wishes for the future.
