Oestreich, Theresa #2 (30 JUL 1865 - 4 JAN 1951)

 

Funeral services for a resident of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) for 33 years, Mrs. Theresa Oestreich, 85, who died at her home Thursday at 2:30 p.m., were held Saturday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Myre Funeral Home.  Death was attributed to complications of old age.

 

The Rev. J. C. Langholz officiated at the funeral, which was for members of the family only.  Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased, namely: Neil Oestreich, Norman Luchterhand, Garth Luchterhand, Gerhard Lucht, Elmer Oestreich and Raymond Oestreich.

 

Mrs. Romaine Rossow sang "Softly and Tenderly" and "Nearer My God to Thee," accompanied at the organ by Miss Rochelle Lautenbach.

 

Mrs. Oestreich, nee Meuche, was born July 30, 1865, in Germany.  She came to the United States at the age of 18 and lived with a sister at Neillsville until her marriage.

 

She was married near Granton on Aug. 14, 1884, to Adolph Oestreich.  After their marriage they farmed in the town of Sherman until their retirement in 1917, when they moved to Loyal, where Mrs. Oestreich had lived since.  Her husband preceded her in death in 1939.

 

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church here.

 

Besides her husband, three children preceded her in death.

 

Surviving are the following children: Alfred, Loyal; Frank, Loyal; Walter, Park Falls; Harry, Wis. Rapids; Lothar, Loyal; Dennis, Wis. Rapids; Mrs. Charles (Elsie) Lucht, Spencer; Mrs. Edna Wood, Little Rock, Ark.; Mrs. Jense (Lorena) Yde, Roy, Mont. And Mrs. William (Evelyn) Vogel, Valley City, N.D.  Twenty-five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and a sister in German, also survive.

 

All the children were present at the funeral except (Lorena), Mrs. Jense Yde of Roy, Mont.  Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stange and Mr. and Mrs. Gus Holtz, Neillsville; Fred Oestreich, Mr. and Mrs. John Rembs, and Mrs. George Jensen, Marshfield.

 

The Tribune joins in extending their sympathy with that of the many friends, to the bereaved in their loss of a loved one.
