Meacham, Fred E. #4 (2 JUL 1888 - 8 FEB 1951)
Fred Earl Meacham, 62, died at his home on route 1, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), Thursday, Feb. 8, 1951, at 8:30 p.m.
Fred Meacham was born July 2, 1888 at Conde, S.D., and came to Wisconsin with his parents at the age of 8 years. His education was received in rural schools and in the Loyal High School.
As a young man he returned to South Dakota to work. At the age of 21 he, with his brother Frank came back to Wisconsin with a team of horses and covered wagon.
He was married to Myrtle Hebert at Spencer, Oct. 16, 1912.
He ran his mother’s farm until he purchased a farm of his own on which he lived for the past 32 years.
He was a member of the Loyal Methodist Church. For sixteen years he served as clerk of the township of Unity.
Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Lee Holmes officiated. Pallbearers were nephews, Hugh Seefeld, Walter Seefeld, Wilbur Schmidt, Donald Hebert, Gerald Hebert, and Alfred Schultz.
James Colby sang "The Hand that was Wounded for Me" and "God Will Take Care of You," with Mrs. Albert Andersen as accompanist.
Burial was in the Spencer Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife and four children, Vernon, Spencer; Mrs. Chris (Norma) Oestreich, Loyal; Mrs. Glenn (Birdine) Oestreich, Loyal; and Pvt Jesse Meacham, Fort Campbell, Ky.
Ten grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Maggie Seefeld, Spencer, and two brothers, Frank and Al, Portland, Ore, also survive.
Two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.

Meacham and Carrol Meacham, Aiken, Minn., Mrs. Elmer Anderson, Scanlon, Minn., Mrs. Russell Groth, Wright, Minn., Harry Hebert and Merrill Bishop, Beach, N.D., Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Hebert and Glenn Hebert, Rhinelander; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bishop and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hebert and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Boehning, Marshfield; Connie Meacham and Walter Meacham, Downing; Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Smith, Eau Claire.
