Seif Township (18 Sept 1913)
Ed Zeigler had the misforture to lose a fine cow very suddenly last week. He milked her Sunday morning and turned her in the pasture with the other cows, and Sunday night she didn’t appear at milking time, and Monday morning he found her dead only a short distance from the barn. The cause of her death is unknown, but Ed thinks perhaps she was bitten by some poisonous snake.
Claude Westphal is busy building a new house. Several of the neighbors helped him shingle Sunday. Sunday shingling bees seem to be the style lately.
Ed Zeigler was a Neillsville caller Wednesday of last week.
Theo. Zeigler has finished the excavation for a new basement.
Marlon Conlin, who recently purchased what is known as the school house 80, was in this neighborhood one day last week and gave the writer a pleasant call.
Wm. and Claude Westphal and families were Greenwood callers last week.
Jessie Palms is the proud possessor of a new gasoline engine.
Isa Pitts helped Mrs. Asplin Monday.
