Green Wood Wanted (October - 1901)
270 Cords Green Wood Wanted:
Sealed proposals for furnishing 270 cords of green wood for the Neillsville schools will be received by the school board at any time prior to October 19th, 1901, at 2 o’clock p.m.; 195 cords to be delivered at the south side school house and 75 cords at the north side school house in the city of Neillsville, before March 20th, 1902.
Wood must be smooth, sound body hardwood and cut from live timber 30 inches in length. (Black or red oak, elm, basswood or poplar wood will not be accepted).
Bids for furnishing the largest percentage of body hard maple and ironwood will be given preference, and should therefore specify such percentage.
Bids will also be received and considered at the same time for furnishing 30 cords of 30 inch dry pine wood.
Bids should be sealed and plainly marked "Wood Bid" on outside of envelope and delivered to one of the undersigned members of the board, prior to October 19, 1901, at 2 o’clock p.m. J. M. Sturdevant, director. (Last lines missing as we have no list of undersigned members of the board)
