Thorp, Wisconsin Area (February - 1902)
Mrs. Geo. Zillmann entertained the girls of the basket ball teams and several young men at her home on Saturday evening last. A fine time was enjoyed by all present. - Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Darge, who reside south of the village, celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Saturday evening last, a host of friends being present to enjoy the occasion. - The Loyal Tribune says a lot of mean things about our county seat town - Neillsville - and tangles up tax figures badly in trying to make out a case. The joke of the whole matter is in the remedy suggested - through the next Republican county convention. - County Supervisor of Assessment Ole Samulson will attend a meeting at Madison on Feb. 18, which has been called by the sate tax commissioners. The meeting is called for the purpose of instructing all supervisors throughout the state regarding their duties. - Courier
