Rizner, William (5 SEP 1914 - 8 SEP 2010)

 

NEILLSVILLE -- William Rizner, 96, of Neillsville died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville.

William Rizner was born Sept. 5, 1914, in Neillsville, the son of Michael and Rose (Kalas) Rizner. He joined the Marine Corps in June 1931, serving for four years. He then worked in Chicago at the Crane Co.

He was united in marriage June 14, 1942, to Irma Wahlen. They lived in Chicago for a little more than a year before they moved back to Neillsville. After working at several jobs, they bought the farm of Bill's parents. He farmed for quite a few years, then sold the cows and worked for the town of Washburn taking care of the town roads. After selling the farm in 1973, Bill worked at Nelson Muffler Plant until October 1977, when he retired.

He is survived by his wife, Irma; a son, Roger (Donna) Rizner of Land O' Lakes, Fla.; a daughter, Elsbeth (Robert) Johnson of Neillsville; and one brother, George (Nancy) Rizner of Neillsville.

A private memorial service for Bill will be held in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
