Gibson, Lottie (8 Jan. 1879 - 31 Dec. 1958)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Lottie Gibson, 79, who died Dec. 31, at Merrill, were held at the Presbyterian church here Friday at 2:00 p.m., after which internment was made in the Chili cemetery. Mrs. Gibson, who had gone to Merrill to spend the winter with her son, Floyd, suffered a stroke while there.

 

The Rev. Lawrence Faivre officiated at the funeral services, during which the Misses Dorothy and Marilyn Kieser sung, "Beneath the Cross of Jesus," and "Softly and Tenderly." Mrs. Faivre was organist.

 

Pallbearers were Hans Amacher, Kenneth Anderson, Al Holtzhausen, Maurice Hutt, Ben Merwin and Alfred Scheel.

 

The former Lottie Waterman was born Jan. 8, 1879, in the town of Fremont, Clark county. She married Tom Gibson Aug. 10, 1898, at Chili and made her home in Abbotsford the past 40 years. She was active in Presbyterian church work, a member of the Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors.

 

Her husband, one son, Rene, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

 

Surviving are two sons, Floyd, of Merrill, and Roy, of Milwaukee. There are five grand children and six great grand children and three brothers, Wayne Waterman, Madison; Clark Waterman, Granton; and the Rev. Jay Waterman, Salem, Iowa.

 

Relatives attending the funeral were from Merrill, Milwaukee, Wisconsin Rapids, Granton, Madison, Wausau and Neillsville.
