Neillsville, Wisconsin Area (July - 1902)

At the fourth quarterly conference of M. E. Church it was the unanimous vote of the Stewards requesting the return of Rev. Ingham for the ensuing year.

A bunch of young folks on pleasure bent went to Greenwood Sunday in carriages, the party including Misses Sue Murray, of New London, Agnes Kerwin of Chicago, Marion O’Neill, Bess Kennedy, Blanche and Ethel Ring and Messrs. Jno. Conroy, Carl Mick, Will Campman, Forest Calway and Lloyd Binder.

Rangwall Haugen and some playmates went over to Hewett’s woods early this week to play.  ‘Runnel’ was swinging from a tall tree by a rope hanging on to a cross piece when a hand slipped and he fell into a lot of old stumps and logs, smashing some flesh off his jaw and badly bruising an arm which he carried in a  sling for a few days.  He was high up in the air and his escape from worse injury was a miracle.

A. J. Bullard was in town this week, guest of Mr. and Mrs. Rob’t McCalvy.  He recently returned from an extended tour of observation through Colorado, Utah, California and Oregon, and thinks of locating out there, probably near Salem, Ore.  While away he gained about 18 pounds.  His son, Mert is in the employment agency business, at San Francisco, a member of the firm of Bullard & Johnson.
