Mellin, Cecelia (31 Dec. 1886 - 9 Apr. 1959)

Funeral services for Mrs. Oscar Mellin, 72, of North Fond du Lac, formerly of Abbotsford, who died Thursday at her home after a lingering illness, were held here Sunday afternoon. The body was brought to the First Presbyterian church at noon and lay in state until 2:00 o’clock when services conducted by the Rev. Lawrence Faivre. Pallbearers for the internment, made in the Colby cemetery, were Royal Archambo, W. O. Colby, Clarence Gosse, Robert Johnston, Orville Lieders, and M. C. Thompson.

The former Cecelia Baker was born Dec. 31, 1886, at Abbotsford. She was married here Sept. 28, 1908, to Oscar Mellin. They lived here until 1917 when they moved to North Fond du Lac.

Mrs. Mellin was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainsmen.

She is survived by her husband and daughter, Mrs. George (Bernice) McMillan, of Manitowoc.

Among those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. Mellin, North Fond du Lac, Mr. and Mrs. George McMillan, Manitowoc; Charles Blake and son, Robert, Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Blake, children, Tom, Stevens Point, and Mrs. Becker, Sturgeon Bay; Mrs. Carl Winkel, Fred Bothke, and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Luskin, Rice Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Finly and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Davis and son, Eau Claire; Mrs. Mary Hayes, Ironwood, Mich.; Miss Elizabeth Hayes, Tomahawk; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnston, Fond du Lac.

After the services at the cemetery, the relatives and friends from away gathered at the Schueler and Clarence Gosse home.
