Daenicke, Shirley (Marriage - 25 Apr. 1959)
Miss Shirley Daenicke and Donald Marcott exchanged marriage vows Saturday afternoon at Christ Lutheran church at 2:00 o’clock, with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating. Herbert Juneau played the wedding marches and sang "The Lord’s Prayer," and "O Perfect Love" for the double ring ceremony. Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Martin Daenicke of Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Marcott of Dorchester.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of white dotted net. Sequins detailed the bateau neck line and the top of the ruffled skirt. A crown of net trimmed with sequins and pearls, held her finger tip veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of feathered white carnations and stephanotis, centered with an orchid.
Attending the couple, were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Johnson, of Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Marcott of Owen.
Ushers were Donald Daenicke of Tomahawk and Robert Marcott of Abbotsford, brothers of the couple.
Mrs. Johnson, who attended her sister as matron of honor, and Mrs. Marcott wore short sleeved dresses of shirred net and ruffles over yellow taffeta. They had crowns of braided pearls and net and carried colonial bouquets of white and yellow carnations.
Mrs. Daenicke wore a two piece ensemble of spring green to her daughter’s wedding, and Mrs. Marcott chose a two piece wine colored dress. Both selected white accessories and had corsage of pink cymbidium orchids and feathered yellow carnations.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Raymond Johnson home and a 4:30 supper was served at the church dining rooms. In the evening, the new Mr. and Mrs. Marcott greeted friends at a wedding dance at Memorial hall, Dorchester.
Mr. and Mrs. Marcott will make their home on the groom’s farm in the town of Mayville, following a short honeymoon in Northern Wisconsin and Canada.
Both young people are graduates of the Abbotsford high school. The bride is employed in the office of the American Box Board Company at Colby.
Guests from away at the wedding were from Dorchester, Curtiss, Medford, Milwaukee, Phillips, Glidden, Tomahawk, Owen, Colby, Chili, Unity, and Minneapolis.
