Liden, Betty (Marriage - 25 Apr. 1959)

About 100 guests greeted Mr. and Mrs. David Carlson, Saturday, at an open house held in their honor at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Carlson.

The newly married couple are now living in their home at Colby, where the groom is employed at American Box Board Company.

Their marriage took place Saturday, April 25, at Onamia, Minn., at the home of the bride’s parents, at 1:00 o’clock. A cousin of the bride was pianist and a friend was soloist. Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Smith.

For her wedding, the former Betty Liden, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Liden, appeared in a long sleeved ballerina length gown of white lace. She wore a white hat and had a corsage.

The matron of honor, cousin of the bride, wore a deep azure blue dress and a white hat and also had a corsage.

Navy blue, with pink accessories, was worn by the mother of the bride, and sheer navy with white accessories was chosen by the groom’s mother. Corsages of deep pink roses and feathered white carnations were worn by both mothers.

Also honored with corsages and boutonnieres were the groom’s grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Schwartz, and sisters and brother of the groom, Mrs. Eugene Graffunder, Mrs. Leroy Jeske, the Misses Mary Ann and Mae Carlson, and Herbert Carlson.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held from 2:00 to 5:00 o’clock at the high school cafeteria in Onamia.
