McNamer, George L. (1895? - 17 May 1959)
Funeral services for George L. McNamer, 64, who died of injuries suffered in an airplane accident, Sunday, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Ruesch Funeral Home at Medford. The Rev. Lawrence Faivre of the Presbyterian church, Abbotsford, officiated and burial was made in the Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. McNamer operated a mink ranch north of Medford the past 12 years. He started flying in 1935 and held a commercial pilot’s license, until his death. The fatal accident occurred Sunday afternoon as he was coming in for a landing at the field at his home, when his plane hit high tension wires on the west side of Highway 13.
He is survived by his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Howard (Jeanette) Bobbe, of Abbotsford, and son, Ray, Medford. There are seven grand children and two brothers and two sisters.
A son, Lester, died in 1942.
