Younker, Mr./Mrs. Anton (50th Anniv. - 16 May 1959)
The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Younker of Colby was celebrated Saturday, at the farm home in the town of Mayville, where they lived most of their married life. Since the Younkers moved to Colby, after their retirement about five years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Fritsche and family, a son-in-law and daughter, are living there.
About 150 relatives and friends attended the reception, which began at 2:00 o’clock, and the 4:00 o’clock supper.
All of the family of the honored couple, except one, attended. Mrs. Adolph (Eva) Kind, and family of Germantown, were unable to be here.
Mr. and Mrs. Younker have six children: Rudolph and Mrs. George (Vera) Henning, Abbotsford; Mrs. Gilbert (Loretta) Fritsche and Norbert Younker, Dorchester; Mrs. Adolph (Eva) Kind, Germantown; and Mrs. Rynold (Anna) Neurenberger, Stetsonville. There are 17 grand children and four great grand children.
Mr. Younker has three sisters and a half brother and Mrs. Younker has two sisters and a brother.
Mrs. Younker, the former Rose Behing, was born in the town of Mayville. Mr. Younker, born in Germany, came to the town of Mayville when a very small boy. The couple was married in St. Louis’ Catholic church, Dorchester, May 19, 1909.
