Ostenson, Melvin Edward (28 Sept. 1890 - 18 July 1959)
Funeral services for Melvin Ostenson were held Tuesday afternoon at the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby with the Rev. Orval Egbert of Greenwood officiating. Burial was made in Pine Hill cemetery, Curtiss.
Mr. Ostenson was found dead, Saturday, in the barn on his farm one and one-half miles east of Curtiss. A daughter, Ethel, who lived with her father and two nieces, the Misses Gale and Gloria Goodspeed, of Jackson, Ohio, who are visiting at the Ostenson home, found the body after returning from a call in the home of a relative in the area. Clark county authorities who investigated, said he had hanged himself.
Miss Ostenson told authorities that her father had been despondent since the death of his wife, May 5.
Melvin Edward Ostenson was born Sept. 28, 1890, in the town of Mayville and resided on the farm all his life. He was married in 1915 to Tena Gosse.
