Heydon, Jean Anne (Marriage - 1 Aug. 1959)

Miss Jean Anne Heydon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Heydon, Superior, became the bride of James C. Bogaro, son of Mr. and Mrs. James J. Bogaro, Iron Belt, at an 11:00 o’clock ceremony Aug. 1, in St. Francis Xavier Catholic church at Superior.

Sprigs of white gladioli decked the altar for the double ring ceremony. The Rev. Fr. Maurice Amonn officiated.

The bride wore a gown of Chantilly lace over net and taffeta. Its scalloped pattern centered the bodice and continued to wreathe the scoop neckline. The long fitted sleeves tapered in points over her hands. The petal pointed waistline held the layered tiers of Chantilly lace and taffeta.

Chantilly lace also fashioned the full over skirt which was floor length. The bride’s veil of silk illusion made in France, was draped to a scalloped crown, decorated with pearls and sequins.

She carried a white orchid over a white prayer book with streamers of stephanotis.

The attendants were Miss Jacqueline Derkey, maid of honor, and Misses Andrea Amys and Nancy Lindquist were bridesmaids. They all chose identically styled ballerina length gowns of light pink taffeta overlaid with white Chantilly lace. They featured fitted bodices, Sabrina necklines, thimble sleeves and white lace cummerbund waistlines, accented by pink satin butterfly bows and streamers falling over full circular skirts.

Isadore Burzinski, Iron Belt, served as best man, while other groomsmen were Robert Poyega, Michigan, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Albert Guerrera of Superior. Ushers were Joseph La Perre, Superior, uncle of the bride, and John Olerto, Iron Belt, uncle of the groom.

A wedding breakfast followed the ceremony and was served in the home of the bride’s parents. The breakfast was followed by a reception at the V.F.W. club rooms. Beginning at 8:00 p.m. a wedding dance was held at the same place, from which the bride and groom left on a wedding trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Following the wedding trip, the couple will reside at Abbotsford. Mr. Borgare is music instructor at the Abbotsford public schools.
