Dietsche, Frederick Aloysius (3 Apr. 1903 - 3 Nov. 1959)
A rosary service for Fred Dietsche, Jr., who died Tuesday evening at the age of 56, was held Friday evening at 8:00 o’clock at the Polnazszek Funeral Home. A Requiem High Mass was held Saturday morning at 10:30, at Christ the King Catholic church, at Spencer, and burial was made in the Spencer cemetery. The Rev. Carl Wohlmuth officiated at the rites.
Pallbearers were Vern Dohm, Clarence Dolan, Malcolm Lamont and John Pinter, Abbotsford; Ray Rese Schmitt, Thorp; and Alex Nieman, Wausau.
Frederick Aloysius Dietsche was born at Veefkind, April 3, 1903. He started school there but shortly after, the family moved to a farm near Colby and he attended St. Mary’s Catholic school there.
He was employed by the Soo Line Railroad and lived at Spencer, Ladysmith and Abbotsford. About five months ago, the family moved from Spencer to Ladysmith where he died of cancer, after a brief illness.
He is survived by his widow, the former Lucille Schmitt, of Thorp, whom he married there June 20, 1930. There are four daughters, Karen, Patricia, Mary, Jeannie, and two sons, Neil and Stephen, all at home.
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dietsche, of Abbotsford, also survive, and six brothers and sisters, all of whom were here for the funeral. They are Edwin, Sheboygan; Felix, Owen; Daniel and Sylvester J., Stevens Point; Ben, Chippewa Falls; Vincent, Abbotsford; Mrs. William (Frances) Schoch, Miss Florence Dietsche and Mrs. Stanley (Berniece) Kostka, Stevens Point.
Twin sons and a sister, Mary, preceded him in death.
