Leckman, Julia (26 Mar. 1896 - 11 Nov. 1959)

Mrs. Oscar (Julia) Leckman, 68, Route 2, Athens, died Nov. 11, at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, following a series of strokes suffered during the past four weeks. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 o’clock at the Congregational church at Curtiss, with the Rev. James Stone officiating. Internment was made in Riverside cemetery, Withee.

Mrs. Leckman was born March 26, 1896 in Bismark, North Dakota. Her marriage to Oscar Leckman took place at Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

The Leckman family moved to Abbotsford from Libertyville, Illinois, six years ago and bought the farm in the town of Holton, now owned by Robert Bogaard.

They moved to a place west of Curtiss and then to the Denzine farm, three miles east and five miles north, which they sold last September. They had planned to live there until Dec. 1.

Surviving her are her husband, three sons, Curtiss, Richard and Donald and one daughter, Mrs. Delmar (Genevieve) Ahrens, all of Libertyville, Ill., and another daughter, Mrs. Wallace (Fern) Ledin, of Waukegan.

There is one sister in Canada.

All of the children were here to attend the funeral of their mother.
