Mrs. Harold Wepfer returned to Chicago Saturday after spending a week at Colby with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Zahorka, and here at the Myron Wepfer home.

 

Marge’s bowling team held a Christmas party at the Casa Granda on Dec. 14. In an earlier issue of the Tribune, it was reported as having been held elsewhere.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Wiedenhoeft and daughter of Dale, spent Christmas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Schmirler. Mrs. Wiedenhoeft and baby remained for the week and Mr. Wiedenhoeft will return for New Year’s.

 

Many were worried about Santa Claus not being able to negotiate the badly drifted roads for Christmas, but Lt. Francis Kadonsky solved the problem by mounting an airplane at Kenosha and passing over Santa Claus and his reindeer, landing at Abbotsford last Thursday, bringing good cheer, Christmas greetings and gifts to his father, Frank Kadonsky.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Carlson and family attended a wedding reception of relatives at Menomonie on Dec. 24. Four children of Mrs. Carlson’s brother, Joyce, Kenneth, Danny and Susan Schwartz, of Glenwood City, returned with them. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Schwartz, of Glenwood City, came on Christmas and both families spent the day with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Schwartz at Colby.

 

Robert Lindberg of the U.S. Navy, arrived Tuesday night before Christmas to spend the holidays with his father, John Lindberg, and other relatives. On Jan. 4, he will leave from Norfolk, Va., for duty in the Mediterranean and North Atlantic.

 

Miss Betty Kuehnast, Milwaukee, arrived Tuesday before Christmas and will be here until Jan. 4. She is spending the vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Kuehnast.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ivar Soderbeck spent Christmas day with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Diethman, at Riplinger.

 

Mrs. Nellita Nabbefeld of Chippewa Falls came Thursday and her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Koeppl and family, also of Chippewa Falls, came Friday and spent Christmas with her sisters, the Misses Blanche and Jessie Merrill.
