Peterson, Kirsten (3 Sept. 1873 - 11 Jan. 1960)
The remains of Mrs. Nels Peterson which had been lying in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, were taken to Peace Evangelical church, Dorchester, where services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. Fred Kollath officiating. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
Pall bearers were sons and grand sons of the deceased: Walter, Hans and Henry Peterson, Harley and Arthur Wellner and Theodore Schlinski.
Mrs. Peterson, who was 87 years old, died of complications at her home in the Town of Holton Saturday afternoon.
Born in Denmark Sept. 3, 1873, the former Kirsten Hansen came to America at the age of 26. She married Nels Peterson July 8, 1881, at Strongs Prairie. They farmed in Adams county until 1918 when they moved to the Town of Holton where they still resided with their son, Henry.
Survivors include her husband, three sons, Hans and Walter, both of Milwaukee, Henry, on the home farm, three daughters, Mrs. Wade (Merle) Wellner, Hancock, and Ann and Agnes Peterson, who have been at home; five grand children and two great grand children.
