Gronek, Stanley (17 Aug. 1895 - 10 Apr. 1960)
Funeral services were held Wednesday for Stanley Gronek, 64, at Thorp at St. Hedwig’s Catholic church. The Rev. Francis Disher officiated, and burial was made in the parish cemetery.
The pallbearers were Tony Glasgowski, Jon Ciszewski, Ben Cuwiak, Calvin Pawlek, Robert Pawlek and Edward Paczkowski.
Mr. Gronek died Sunday morning at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield. A rosary service was also held Tuesday evening at the Polnaszek Funeral Home.
Mr. Gronek was born Aug. 17, 1895, in Philadelphia, Pa., and was married Oct. 26, 1921, at Thorp to the former Stella Pawlack, who survives him. They farmed in the Thorp area for 25 years, then moved to Curtiss, where they lived for three years. The Groneks had lived at Abbotsford for the past two years.
Other survivors are three sons, John, of California, Frank, of Chicago, and Ed, Berwyn, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. Clemence (Rose) Grajek, Mrs. Ed (Sophie) Philipek and Mrs. Tony (Helen) Polak, all of Chicago; nine grand children; and two sisters, Mrs. Francis Paczkowski, Withee; and Miss Minnie Gronek, of Chicago.
Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
