Peterson, Nels R. (17 Sept. 1872 - 10 May 1960)
Nels R. Peterson. 87, died at his home in the town of Holton Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Peace Evangelical Church, Dorchester, of which Mr. Peterson was a member. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford.
Mr. Peterson was born Sept. 17, 1872, in Denmark and came to America in 1892. He lived for a short time at Racine, and then went to Strongs Prairie. There he married Christine Hanson on July 8, 1895.
While at Strongs Point, he held town and school board offices.
In 1918, the couple moved to a farm east of Dorchester, which is now operated by his son, Henry.
He is survived by three sons and three daughters: Hans and Walter of Milwaukee, Henry and Miss Agnes Peterson at Dorchester; Mrs. Wade (Marie) Wellner, Hancock; and Miss Ann Peterson, Lake Forest, Ill.
There are five grand children and two great grand children.
Mrs. Peterson preceded her husband in death on Jan. 9, 1960.
