Kademan, Sharee (Marriage - 18 June 1960)
Robert Uhlig, Abbotsford, claimed as his bride, Miss Sharee Kademan, Curtiss, in a double ring ceremony performed Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Green Grove church, town of Green Grove, by the Rev. Howard Timmerman.
Grand parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kademan, rt. 2, Curtiss. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Uhlig, Abbotsford.
Maid of honor for her friend was Miss Carol Buss, Owen. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Norbert Hartl, Onalaska, sister of the groom; and Karen Kademan, rt. 1, Curtiss, cousin of the bride.
Donald Kademan, rt. 1, Dorchester, cousin of the bride, was best man. Groomsmen were Norbert Hartl, Onalaska; brother-in-law of the groom, and Donald Oehler, Abbotsford, friend of the groom. Ushers were Richard Seefluth, Curtiss, cousin of the bride, and Marlyn Laabs, Owen, a friend of the bride.
For her wedding, the former Miss Kademan chose a floor length gown of lace over satin. The bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves, ending in points at the wrist. The skirt was made bouffant by layers of net ruffles under the lace. Her veil was held by a crown. A bouquet of red roses and a pearl necklace, gift of the groom, completed her attire.
The bridal attendants wore dresses styled alike, the maid of honor in blue, and the bridesmaids in pink. The ballerina length dresses, with strapless bodices topped by net jackets, were of nylon net over taffeta. The skirts featured panels of pleated net and peplums of flocked net. Their head pieces were crowns, with short veils. They wore double necklaces, gifts of the bride, and carried bouquets of red roses and white carnations.
Mrs. Elaine Boss, town of Green Grove, played the organ and Miss Beverly Kraut sang.
Mrs. Kademan, grand mother of the bride, wore a navy blue dress, trimmed with lace, black accessories and a corsage of red roses and white mums.
Mrs. Uhlig, the groom’s mother, wore a white linen dress with beaded trim and light blue accessories. Her corsage was also of red roses and white mums.
Also honored were the bride’s aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Kademan, rt. 1, Dorchester, and the groom’s grand mother, Mrs. Gust Uhlig and Mrs. Morris Klemetson. Mrs. Kademan wore a light blue linen dress with white accessories and had a corsage of red roses and white mums. Mrs. Uhlig, wearing navy blue, and Mrs. Klemetson, in light green, both had corsages of white carnations.
Following the ceremony, about 175 guests attended a reception at 2:30 at the Harvey Kademan home, supper in the church basement at 4:30, and a wedding dance in the evening at the Trianon ballroom.
Guests came to the wedding from Curtiss, Dorchester, Sherwood, Colby, Neenah, Milwaukee and St. Paul and Coon Rapids, Minn.
Mr. Uhlig attended Abbotsford high school, and the new Mrs. Uhlig is a 1960 graduate of the Owen-Withee high school.
After returning from their wedding trip, they will make their home in Abbotsford, where the groom is employed by his father in the construction business.
