Hemmy, Arthur R. (1890? - 17 July 1960)
Arthur R. Hemmy, president of the Security State Bank, died Sunday afternoon in a Beaver Dam hospital. He had been in poor health for the past two years.
Mr. and Mrs. Hemmy, who had been residents of Colby for many years, moved to Juneau four years ago where Mr. Hemmy was active in the Midland Insurance Company.
Mr. Hemmy began his banking career in Colby in 1920 and advanced from cashier to president. He retained his official connection with the Security State Bank even after moving to Juneau.
He is survived by his widow and a son, Robert, at Juneau; a daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Wanda) Ellis, of Slinger. There are nine grand children.
A son, Arthur, Jr., preceded him in death.
Funeral services for Mr. Hemmy were held in the Juneau Catholic Church at 9:30 Wednesday morning and burial was made in the parish cemetery.
