Carter, Shirley Marie (Marriage - 13 Aug. 1960)

Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Zettler are making their home at Athens where Mr. Zettler is employed by his father in the construction business.

Anthony Zettler and Shirley Marie Carter were married Saturday, Aug.13 at St. Thomas Catholic church, Milan. The Rev. Charles Schumacher officiated at the ceremony and celebrated the nuptial mass.

Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Carter of Milan and Mr. and Mrs. Anton Zettler of Athens.

The bride wore a gown of nylon tulle and Alencon lace made with a Sabrina neckline and brief sleeves. P:anels of tulle and lace extended in a chapel train. A pearl crown held her chapel length veil. She wore lace mitts and carried a bouquet of white carnations and yellow roses.

Attending her sister as matron of honor was Mrs. Roman Schreiber of Milan. Miss Marlene Amacher, a cousin, of Colby, was bridesmaid.

Mr. Schreiber was best man and Dale Zettler, the groom’s brother, was groomsman. Melvin Carter and Theodore Calmes ushered.

Mrs. Zettler is a graduate of the Abbotsford high school and was employed at Employers Mutuals at Wausau. Mr. Zettler attended the Athens high school.
