Schade, Richard Albert (24 Jan. 1880 - 26 Aug. 1960)

 

Richard Albert Schade, 80, died of a coronary thrombosis Friday evening about 6 o’clock. He was stricken about noon and taken to St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, by ambulance.

 

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Christ Lutheran Church with the Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating. During the services, Miss Dorothy Kieser and Mrs. Weldon Brown Jr. sang "Abide With Me," and "Heaven is My Home."

 

Pallbearers for the internment made in the Abbotsford cemetery were Al Goldamer, George Empey, Ole Hanson, Gus Liepke, Harry Olson and Alfred Scheel.

 

Flowers were carried by Vera Blanke,, Mrs. James Buss, Mrs. Chet Leu, Mrs. Alfred Scheel and the Misses Karin and Lynda Schraufnagel.

 

Mr. Schade was born Jan. 24, 1880, in Germany. When he was four years old, he came to this vicinity with his parents. He spent most of his life as a dairy farmer in the town of Holton. In 1930, he retired and made his home in Abbotsford.

 

His marriage to the former Margaret Feala took place in Dorchester in 1908. She preceded him in death in May, 1958.

 

Surviving are two sons, Ernest of Abbotsford and Clarence of Wausau; two brothers, Emil of Neillsville and Albert, Red Wing, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. George (Clara) Schondelmeir, Park Falls, and three grand children.

 

He was also preceded in death by a son, Lester; a casualty in World War II and by three sisters and a brother.

 

Relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral came from Neillsville, Bay City, Park Falls, Plover, Ashland, Waukesha, Neenah, West Allis, Madison, Milan, Owen, Marshfield, Wausau, Red Wing, Minn., and Crystal Lake, Ill.
