Godard, Lorraine (Marriage - 29 Oct. 1960)
Miss Lorraine Godard and William Shookman exchanged marriage vows Saturday morning at 9:30 before a nuptial high mass at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby. The Rev. John Pinion witnessed the double ring ceremony and read the mass.
Parents of the bridal couple are Mr. and Mrs. Philip Godard of Rt. 1, Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Shookman, Abbotsford.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore an informal wedding dress of white over blue taffeta and a small blue veil.
She wore a locket which the groom’s grand mother wore on her wedding day and again on her golden wedding anniversary. The bridal bouquet was a cascade arrangement of white carnations.
Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Godard of Marshfield, brother and sister-in-law of the bride. The matron of honor wore a blue dress with a small matching head piece and carried a cascade bouquet of pink and white carnations.
A wedding dinner was served in St. Mary’s gymnasium and a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Shookman are living east of Abbotsford on Highway 29. Mrs. Shookman is employed at the basket factory at Edgar and Mr. Shookman is employed at American Box Board at Colby.
