Batten, Luther Wesley (2 Feb. 1880 - 15 Nov. 1960)
Luther Wesley Batten, 80, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening at the home of his son, Lynn, about three miles north of Abbotsford. Mr. Batten had been in failing health the past four years.
The body will lie in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home Thursday evening. On Friday morning, it will be taken to Waupaca where funeral services will be held and burial made Monday.
Mr. Batten was born Feb. 2, 1880. He was a dairy farmer most of his life and lived in Waupaca. His marriage to Elizabeth Benjamin took place at Waupaca July 12, 1906.
In April, Mr. and Mrs. Batten came to live with their son, Lynn.
Surviving besides his widow are five sons, Lynn of Abbotsford, Kenneth of Weyauwega, Keith of Montana, Walter and Cecil of New London and two daughters, Mrs. Boyd (Loella) Carroll of Milwaukee and Mrs. Donald (Marion) Robertson, Appleton.
