Freund, Anna (15 July 1881– 27 December 1958)
Miss Anna Freund, 77, 1402 O’Neill St., Neillsville, died Saturday afternoon at Memorial Hospital of a heart ailment.
Funeral services were held Monday morning from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. Joseph Eisenmann officiated, and the body was taken to McHenry, Ill. where services were to be conducted Wednesday morning. Burial will be made there.
A general rosary service was read Sunday evening at the Bergemann Funeral Home, which was in charge of arrangements.
Miss Freund, daughter of the late Joseph and Suzanna (Kline) Freund was born July 15, 1881 at Johnsburg, Ill. She received her education there and kept house for her father and family after the death of her mother who died when Miss Freund was 12. She later did housework in Chicago and for the past 10 years had made her home with her sister, Mrs. Mary Wapp, in Neillsville.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and of St. Jude’s Circle.
She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Mary Wapp, Neillsville and three brothers: Nick Freund, Neillsville; Charles Freund, Chicago; and Albert Freund, New York City; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers were: Ray Burr, Martin Feuerstein, G. H. Bergemann, August DeKennen, Gerald Schmidt and Max Statz.
People from out of town here for the services were: Charles Freund, Chicago, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Noll, Menomonie; and Mrs. Anna Feuerstein, Marshfield.
