Janicki, Dorothy M. #2 (3 August 1928 - 8 September 2010)
Dorothy M. Janicki, 82, of Neillsville died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Neillsville Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Dorothy was born Aug. 3, 1928, in Chicago, IL, to Anthony and Anna (Kalina) Mack. She began her education in Chicago, moving to the Neillsville area in 1935. She was united in marriage to Ted Janicki Nov. 16, 1946, in Neillsville.
Dorothy was employed at Dadco Foods in Black River Falls for 20 years and was chief steward for the union. Dorothy raised her family and farmed with her husband in the Town of Dewhurst for 63 years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and travel and was an avid reader. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the VFW Auxiliary 5494 at Alma Center.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Janicki of Neillsville: children, Ted (Corinne) Janicki Jr. of Neillsville, Michael (Barbara) of Cadott; Mark of Neillsville, Craig (Diann) of Neillsville, Sheryl (John) Jenness of Brooklynn Park, MN, Kevin (Renee) of Neillsville, Robin (Steve) Simonis of Neillsville and Jessica (Bill) Staszak of Hatfield; 45 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and nine brothers and sisters, Elaine (Leo) Neville of Appleton, Glenn (Janice) Mack of Eau Claire, Terry Mack of Minoqua, Shirley (Glen) Berg of Fox Lake, Mary Ann (Don) Kanter of Greenfield, Betty Lou Gutenberger of Waukesha, Tom (Bridget) Mack of New Berlin, Beverly (Marsh) Kruger of Chippewa Falls and Karen Finch of Neillsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Chris and Luke; and four great-grandchildren, Anthony, Isabel, Brice and Charlie.
Dorothy will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She was a very giving person, loved by many.
Funeral services for Dorothy were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville, with Rev. Woodrow Pace officiating. Burial was made in the Hatfield Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Buchanan Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the Church.
Buchanan Funeral Home of Neillsville assisted the family with the arrangements.
