Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Blau, 84, of Neillsville, were conducted Saturday morning from the Bergemann Funeral Home. The Rev. Fr. Joseph Eisenmann, pastor of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. A general rosary service was read Friday evening. Mrs. Blau died Thursday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield following a stroke.
Mrs. Blau, the former Pearl Shara St. Clare, daughter of the late Robert and Jane (Bass) St. Clare, was born September 4, 1874, in Clark County. She received her education in the county schools and worked for an aunt and uncle in the coal kilns. In 1890 she was married to Wilfred Evans, who died in 1911. On August 29, 1920, she was married to the late Nick Blau at Neillsville. Following is death, she worked for many years as housekeeper at the former Lowe Funeral Home in Neillsville.
She is survived by the following children: Cleve Evans, Neillsville; Wayne Evans, Minneapolis, Minn.; Lyle Evans, Green Bay; Mrs. Fannie Andraschko, Oshkosh; and Mrs. Lester (Leona) Landgraf, Neillsville. She is also survived by a half-brother, Guy Loy, Beloit, and a stepson, Robert Blau, Biloxi, Minn. Fourteen grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers were: Harry Bettin, Robert Free, Ralph Marhefke, Maurice Peterson, Louis Shaw and Carl Treichel.
Out of town people here for the services were: Mrs. Fannie Andraschko, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Andraschko, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Marhefke, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bettin, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Treichel, Miss Linda Andraschko, Percy M. Mormen and Larry Laverenz, all of Oshkosh; Lyle Evans, and Lyle Evans, Jr., Green Bay,; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Shaw, Black River Falls; Mrs. Amos Vaughn, Menomonee Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Nic Weinand, Jackson; Mr. and Mrs. Morton Clark, Alma Center; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Anding and Mr. and Mrs. Leland Bass, Granton.
