Neillsville, Wisconsin Rotary Club (Changes - 1959)
The Neillsville Rotary Club has changed quarters for the winter months. Arrangements have been made to meet in the American Legion hall, with Mrs. Max Vollmert of Pine Valley preparing the meals. Meetings will continue there until next summer.
Heron "Pink" Van Gorden talked on changing conditions in the elevator business and spoke of the changes they are making to keep step with the times. He stated that they are installing bulk loading and unloading equipment and said they are moving their fertilizer plant to their warehouse near the county highway department.
The meeting was held at the American Legion dining hall, with Mrs. Max Vollmert doing the cooking and Miss Marian Adamec as waitress. Herbert Scheel, the new proprietor of Merchants Hotel, was a guest Monday eve.
Next Monday, M. V. Overman will show pictures and deliver a travelogue on his recent trip in the Caribbean.
Rotarians entertained their wives at a Christmas party at the Silver Dome Supper Club. Jack Thornton and Gene LaFons furnished the dinner music. There was no formal program, but a social hour was enjoyed.
