Blado, Karl F. #2 (2 JUN 1866 - 26 MAR 1951)
Karl Frederick Blado, 84, died early Monday morning, March 26, at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Capelle, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) Route 1.
Funeral services were held in Trinity Lutheran Church Thursday afternoon. The Rev. J.C. Langholz officiated. Mr. Vern Dahlby sang "My God and I," Asleep in Jesus," and "Oh Where Is the Home of the Soul to Be Found." He was accompanied by Miss Rochelle Lautenbach at the organ.
The pallbearers were Fred Clouse, Ben Kadolph, Frank Stange, August Ehlert, Herman Konschak, and Albert Wehrman.
Burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery.
Mr. Blado was born in Schonhagen, Germany, June 2, 1866. With his parents, the late August and Christiana Blado, and two sisters and two brothers, he came to the United States at the age of sixteen years and settled on the land in Loyal Township where he lived the remaining sixty-eight years of his life. There he helped convert the eighty acres of woodland into a farm home.
Mr. Blado attended public and Lutheran parochial schools. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Loyal and at various times had held the office of trustee and chairman in the church.
He was married March 29, 1894 to Miss Emma Splittgerber, also a native of Germany. His wife preceded him in death in 1917, and a daughter, Elsie, in 1939. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Martha) Capelle, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Wm. (Bertha) Haslow of Spencer, Route 2, and a brother, August of Newell, Iowa.
