Christie, Wisconsin Area (January - 1959)
The Christie Parent Teachers Association met Thursday night at the Christie School. Following a business session, Lawrence Fagan, teacher at Cozy Corner School, Chili, showed slides of a trip he took by bus from Wisconsin to Miami and Key West, Fla., sponsored by the Taylor County Teachers College of Medford.
Christie and Greenwood Methodist churches will hold a joint meeting at Greenwood Methodist church this (Thursday) evening at 8 o’clock, with Mrs. Neil (Doris) Warren speaking on Alaska as she knew it. The Warrens spent several years as residents of Alaska.
Mr. and Mrs. Brad Bennett and three children of Cranmoor visited last weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Schaefer.
Mrs. Herman Schultz is spending a week at Hampshire, Ill., visiting her son, Harvey and daughter, Emma. She made the trip by bus.
Herman Schultz has been confined to his home in Weston with "flu".
William Lavrence has returned from a visit with relatives in southern Wisconsin to make his home with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bensen.
The regular meeting of Christie Women’s Society of Christian Service will be held Wednesday, February 11, starting at 2 p.m., at the home of Mrs. LaVerne Cutts. Devotions will be in charge of Mrs. Beulah Fisher. The lesson will be given by Mrs. George Schriefer.
Seventeen members of the Christie Methodist Youth Fellowship, accompanied by some parents, attended a roller skating party at Unity Friday evening, as guests of Spencer M. Y. F. There were 60 young people in attendance.
