Olsen, Virgene C. (2 JUN 1951)

Miss Virgene Carol Olsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Olsen, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of E. LaVern Dahlby, Osseo, in a ceremony performed in Trinity Lutheran Church at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 1951.

The Rev. John Langholz, Thornton, Iowa, officiated at the service.  Miss Eunice Langholz, Thornton, sang "The Lord’s Prayer" and the "Wedding Prayer," and was accompanied by Miss Donna Mae Gotter at the organ.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white mousseline de soie with Chantilly lace yoke and long sleeves, pointed at the wrists.  Her veil of silk tulle was caught to a cap of Chantilly lace.  Her bouquet of two white orchids was carried on a white Bible.

Miss Oral Olsen, Loyal, served as her sister’s maid of honor, and Miss Bonnie Olsen and Mrs. Glen Bloom, Loyal, both sisters of the bride, were her bridesmaids.

Crescent bouquet of deep pink and yellow roses, with green ribbon, was carried by the bride’s attendants.  All gowns and headdresses were of the same material and were designed and made by the bride and her attendants.

Mr. Clayton Skoug, Osseo, cousin of the groom, was best man.

Mr. Glen Bloom, brother-in-law of the bride, and Gerald Wick, cousin of the groom, served as groomsmen and ushers.

A reception was held in the church parlors with approximately 70 guests attending.  A beautiful four tier wedding cake was baked by the Loyal bakery.  The cake was won by the bride and groom on Penny Serenade over WDLB.

The bride will resume her duties at the business office of the Wis. Telephone Company in Eau Claire.  The groom will attend the Eau Claire State College.

Upon their return from their honeymoon they will be at home at 1221 ½ S. Farwell St., Eau Claire.
