Weston Township (5 March 1959)

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Opelt of Woodstock, Ill. are spending this week in Clark County and are making repairs and improvements on their newly-purchased farm, in Weston.  They plan to move onto the farm which was purchased from Earl Tompkins.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Halbrader visited their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Nolan, and her mother, Mrs. Albert Oswald, in Greenwood Sunday.

 

The Seif and Weston Mothers Club met Wednesday at the Globe School.  The meeting was scheduled for 8 p.m. with a social get-together and lunch planned. 

 

Forrest Nielsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Nielsen, has made application for entry to the University of Wisconsin in September. A senior at Neillsville High School, he plans to major in agricultural research.  He has also requested accommodations at a University dormitory.

 

Gene and Lawrence Boge of Charles City, Ia., visited last weekend with their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Boge.

 

Mrs. Carl Eslinger and her daughter, Mrs. Tom Pozega, visited Monday with friends in Greenwood.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bensen and daughter, Mabel, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Tieman and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Coplitz.

 

William Lavrence of Weston and Gilman Bergh of Hixton made a business trip to Iowa last weekend.

 

Ralph Bensen and his father-in-law, William Lavrence, called on friends in Eau Claire Tuesday.  Mr. Lavrence is planning to return in a few days to work for his former employer, Gilman Bergh at Hixton.

 

Francis Heiman visited last weekend with John Putz at Columbia.
