Magedanz, Nora (17 April 1896 - 25 March 1959)

 

Mrs. Nora Magedanz, 62, died in St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 25.

 

The former Nora Spangler was born in the Town of York, April 17, 1896. She was married to Herman Magedanz in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville November 23, 1915.  After their marriage they moved onto another farm in the Town of York and she remained there all of her life.  Her husband died in February 1953.

 

She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and St. Mary’s Altar Society. The Altar Society attended the funeral service in a body.

 

A general rosary was held at 8:30 Sunday evening in the Myre Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services were held in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. John Weber, Marshfield and Mr. Norbert King officiating. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

 

Pallbearers were: Lawrence Zink, Franklin Walter, Phillip Schecklman, George Kronberger, Joe Hoeser, and Tony Walter.

 

Mrs. Magedanz is survived by three sons, Joe of Marshfield; Romaine of South Milwaukee, and Emil at home; Three brothers: Tony Spangler of Loyal, Frank Chester Spangler of California, and Joe Spangler of Neillsville; two sisters, Mrs. Max Zink of Cudahy, and Mrs. Victor Garbisch of Loyal; and two grandchildren.

 

Those from out of town who attended the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Romaine Magedanz, South Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Max Zink, Mr. and Mrs. William Scaffadi and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Zink and family, Cudahy; Mrs. Bessie Spangler, Joe Spangler, and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Johnson, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Magedanz and children, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kaiser, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Sternweis and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Tichy, Greenwood.
